Dear Current and Prospective PASO Member,
Accounting in the petroleum industry compels us to stay abreast of the latest accounting interpretations, government requirements, and many other oil and gas accounting issues. The Petroleum Accountants Society of Oklahoma-Tulsa (“PASO”) can help fulfill that need. Consider joining an organization with over 60 of your peers representing over 23 companies and avail yourself of the latest developments in oil and gas accounting.
PASO is the longest standing charter member of the Council of Petroleum Accountants Societies (“COPAS”). COPAS has 24 societies across the United States and Canada and has over 2,500 members.PASO provides members in the Tulsa area a forum for discussing and resolving difficult industry related accounting problems. Working in conjunction with other COPAS societies, PASO members participate in the creation of accounting guideline documents, model form accounting procedures, model form interpretations and educational materials used throughout the petroleum accounting industry.
Your participation will allow you to increase your knowledge of industry policies and procedures, develop leadership skills, network with other industry professionals, and earn CPE credit. Through your participation on various committees, your company will have a voice in projects relating to COPAS guidelines. As a member, you will have access to the national member directory that will enhance your ability to contact the appropriate people and resolve issues more efficiently. PASO also provides an opportunity to participate in the Accredited Petroleum Accountant (APA) program, which is quickly becoming a standard measure of petroleum accounting expertise. The ACCOUNTS magazine, which is published quarterly, will keep you apprised of the most recent developments in the industry.
The $225 annual membership fee includes for the 2023-2024 term, membership, and lunch meetings for the local PASO chapter and the COPAS national dues of $110. CPE credit is typically available at meetings throughout the year. General membership meeting times and committee meeting times will be included in our monthly newsletter. We will be hosting an education day in the spring to bring additional CPE to our members.
We are so excited to hold in-person meetings and to have the opportunity to network with our peers in person! Please return your completed application by August 31, 2023. Your timely response is greatly appreciated. Our first member meeting will be Tuesday, September 6, 2023, as a welcome back social. We will meet at The Vault, downtown Tulsa, from 4 pm to 7 pm for drinks and Hors D’oeuvres.
